The first morning for breakfast, Elise, Valerie and I went downstairs and let Robbie and Rachel catch up on some much needed sleep. At breakfast we saw the waterfall. After we ate we went exploring and took a few pictures. I told the girls to stand on the rocks so that I could take a photo.
Valerie would not go. That is her in the orange stripe shirt behind the palm trees.
I walked with her and had Elise take our picture.
Valerie was ready to go back to our room. I motioned for her to follow us and we continued to walk around. When we got back to the lobby, she headed for the elevators to go back to our room. I again motioned her to follow us.
We met with Aron in the lobby. She will be our guide while we are here in Guangzhou. We waited on the other six families who are here to finalize their adoptions. Today we were all to meet in the lobby to go to the medical clinic.
Aron is very nice. She spoke to Valerie and told her that we were all going to get our eyes and ears checked. Valerie sighed and got on the bus. I really think that if Elise had not been with me Valerie would not have gotten on the bus.
She had already been asking about "mei mei", which means "little sister" this morning. I told her that mei mei needed to sleep. Valerie really has bonded with both Elise and Rachel.
The reason we are here in Guangzhou is because they have the adoption medical clinic here and the U.S Consulate that handles all international adoptions.

Trying to pass the time for our medical exam

Elise with Lu Lu

The medical exam was fairly brief:
Blood pressure and color blindness test
Blood pressure and color blindness test

Height and weight

Eye chart - they ended up moving her all the way back to the end of the room. The girl can see!

Ears, nose and throat

General Check up

Bloodwork - they would not allow any parent to go in while they did this.

Showing off their band aides. Aron asked her if it hurt. She said "It did a little, but I did not cry".

We saw three different doctors and several nurses. I can't wait to get to Dr. Moser's office when we get home.

This is in the lobby of the clinic. I guess if the doctors couldn't fix you, this might!
